Citizen Kane: Personal Review

After watching the movie Citizen Kane, directed by Orson Welles, it took me a while to think about whether or not i truly enjoyed the movie. I would have to say I gave it a chance, and yet I have not found one thing that I truly enjoyed about the movie. Other than the fact that it was hard for me to keep myself awake during the film, Have no desire to watch a movie in black and white. I don't know what it is, but for some reason any movie in black in white, no matter what it is, I have never been able to follow. I think it may be something about color that holds my attention and keeps me interested. It is hard for me to distinguish characters easily when a film is in black and white as well because in some ways that characters all just look the same. There was not enough action taking place in the movie to keep me entertained as well, nothing to hold my interest. The only reason why i continued to watch and pay attention to the movie was just the fact that I had to know what the significance of Kane saying "rosebud" as his last word before he dies. If not for that part i honestly think there was not purpose for the movie besides giving information about this man's background. So overall, in my opinion, this film was not buy any means everything that it was built up to be, I understand that the cinematography aspects and such are good, but other than that, this film did not satisfy me what-so-ever and i do not intend on intentionally watching it ever again.
