I decided to analyze the acting in My Darling Clementine. I think that all of the actors and actresses did a phenomenal job of bringing their characters to life. Since I did not really enjoy the movie all that much, i decided to analyze the part that i thought was really well done, which is the acting. All of the actors brought something different to the table and they all connected really well as whole, making everything very believable in the film.
Victor Mature, who plays Doc Holiday in the film, does a remarkable job of creating Doc to be portrayed as a man who has kissed his aspirations and greatness good bye, and now just lives life one day at a time. Henry Fonda, who play Earp, could not have fulfilled his role better by truly capturing the character with his multi-dimensional performance. The characters really pull the audience into the current time and make the setting really come to life. They do a great job of making every scene incredibly believable, making all aspects of the film entirely realistic. I think that Clementine, played by Cathy Downs, is presented in a perfect way when we think of what women were like during those times in the west. Her voice, her appearance, and her attitude are all on key when I think of an ideal woman coming from the west during that time period.
So overall, if it were not for a great cast, I think this film would not have been successful. They all brought every aspect of the story to life and incorperated personal touches to the characters they were given to play. I really enjoyed the feeling and emotions that they produced in the film and I think they acting was very well done.
