Once Upon A Time In the West...

First of all, I could not have been more thrilled to see bold, saturated colors filling up the screen when we started the film Once Upon A Time In the West. I do not think I could have put up with one more black and white film in a row, and I kid you not, I guarantee I would have paid slight to no attention to this film if it hadn't been in color. I would hate to continue my streak of disliking the movies we have been watching in class, but I can't help myself. These movies are not interesting enough for me and I have a really hard time getting into them. I will say that there were parts of this movie that really did hold my attention though. I enjoyed the part where Harmonica and some other men are one the train, and they see this boot dangling down from the window and suspect that it is a real person trying to sneak up on them. A man walks up to the boot to grab it, and low and behold, it is a gun and it shoots the man right in the face. As brutal as that scene sounds, it definitely held every ones attention in the class, and it is that kind of suspension that keeps my attention while watching a film. The colors in depicted in the film also kept my attention. I think it was amazing how practically every character had these beautiful blue eyes and this perfectly bronzed skin. Maybe they retrieve that perfectly even tan from riding around in the sun all day? I don't know, but I would like to find out.
